Creative Expression of Emotion
Workshop
The workshop “Creative Expression of Emotion” aims to provide a creative outlet for students’ emotions through exploring different art mediums and crafts. The goal is to equip attendees with methods of how to channel and express their emotions through various creative outlets and by engaging in more meaningful group discussions where everyone has the opportunity to explore their feelings more and find peace and enjoyment by expressing their emotions through a craft. The workshop will be catered to an audience looking for a place to actively share experiences with emotional regulation and those who would like to learn new strategies regarding the topic.
Students will rotate weekly or bi-weekly as a whole between projects by either 1) exploring a designated medium or 2) completing a case study of an artist, meaning that one week we may have the attendees focus on research on a designated artist and another week may consist of art creation. The assignments and activities will include warm-ups with discussion-based prompts such as highs and lows, activity time to work on the projects themselves, and homework with opportunities for art journaling.
